The Glass Art Society's Student Representative is an important position on the Board of Directors. The Student Representative serves as the primary champion of student projects and is the key intermediary between student members and the general membership of GAS. The Glass Art Society encourages all eligible, full-time student members in a degree-seeking glass program to apply.

Your application should include:

  • A letter of intention
  • A resume or CV
  • Two references 
  • A writing sample

By submitting an application, if selected, students agree to allow GAS to use their submitted images and information in online and printed GAS publications and media.

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

  • You do not need to be a GAS member to submit a presentation proposal or to present at the conference.
  • Proposals must be submitted in English and all presentations are to be given in English.
  • GAS will supply presentation computers and presentations must be received 2 weeks in advance of the conference. 
  • Each proposal must be complete and instructions must be fully followed in order to be considered. 
  • The GAS Board of Directors and Conference co-chairs will review all submissions that meet the requirements.
  • Travel and accommodations during the conference are the responsibility of each presenter.
  • If selected, a notification of acceptance and instructions on how to proceed will come through Submittable.com. 
  • Conference panel moderators are required to submit a 1000-1400 word article regarding their presentation for the 2020 GAS Journal. 

Panel Proposal Slot: 1.5 hours, Honoraria $250 moderator, $200/panelist (max. 1 mod & 3 panelists), one conference pass each.

  • Demonstrators are encouraged to donate their artwork made during their demonstration to GAS as a part of a live demo auction.
  • If selected, a notification of acceptance and instructions on how to proceed will come through Submittable.com.  

Demo Proposal Slot: 1.5 hours, $400 total honoraria for slot, generally one conference pass per presenter, 1 assistant allowed for hot demos only. Demonstrators will have the opportunity to narrate their presentations themselves or GAS will provide someone.
